Dr. Nitin S Tewari talked about basic of patents, copy rights, GI tags, trade marks and their filing procedure followed by implementation and managing an IP portfolio with championing the cause of technology innovation within NCL. She also mentioned the various types of regional and national patent protection like National, Regional, International, African Regional Intellectual Protection and Patent Co-operative Treaty PCT. She also briefed about different types of Trademarks like Trademarks based on symbols, letters, colour, pictures, three dimensional signs and holograms followed by types of Trademark registration such as National registration, Regional system for regional registration, European registration for a community trademark and Trade mark infringements.Dr. Niranjan Yeole briefed about basic copy rights, rights protection under copy rights, types of rights under
copy rights, licencing, agreements and risk of infringement under copy rights.
Dr. Nitin S Tewari and Dr. Niranjan Yeole conducted a quiz session for the participants during the event to
familiarise the participants about the insights of the patents filing procedures and right protection and legalities
of copy rights and trademarks.
